How we work
- Public data only. Every figure traces to a public filing.
- Inputs checked by hand where we say so. A place marked that way had its figures matched to the source documents by a person; everything else says it was screened only.
- Honest about limits. When a cost is old or a reason is unknown, we say so rather than guess.
- Checked against the filing. Each month a random sample of rows from every source is checked against the original filing, and the error rate is reported with its sample size.
